At its best in Fall and Spring, a shade more by day than night.
Rakh by Scent Of Africa is a fragrance for men. Rakh was launched in 2022. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Pescheux. Top notes are Madagascar Cloves, Black Pepper and Grapefruit; middle notes are Apple, Floral Notes, Haitian Vetiver and Cedar; base notes are Incense and Musk. This fragrance is a tribute to the god Tiurakh, god of prosperity and wealth. He is revered by the Serer people in Senegal, Gambia, and Mauritania, and is the incarnation of success. Rakh is its expression as a scent. He is a divine man who attracts success and exudes luxury and refinement. The rare materials are layered over his sculpted silhouette. He has a few pieces of jewellery on his wrists and around his neck to symbolise his status. He is a prince of the night. This is a perfume of good fortune and triumph. The man who wears it is charismatic, powerful, magnetic and has distinct taste. He promises divine favours and dares to move towards his destiny. Rakh is an eternal winner. Elegance is Rakh’s signature, with spicy amplitude on a woody foundation. First Madagascan Clove and Black Pepper is imprinted on majestic Wood, straddling Haitian Vetiver and Cedar. Grapefruit essence sparkles for more golden radiance and light. Like a chiaroscuro, fruity hints like Apple and a floral touch nuance, the deep trail tinted with Musk and Somali sacred Incense. “Rakh plays on the contrast of warm and cold spices, to gain in tremulous, majestic amplitude. It’s a fragrance with wonderful verticality that rises from Vetiver roots, up to the sacred Incense that lifts it towards the sky. The Somali Incense used is pure, natural in origin, harvested from the trunks of ancestral trees. I see a man who loves life and who life loves in return. This fragrance is to be worn when you want to feel irresistible”. Olivier Pescheux, Master Perfumer.
