Cookie Policy

Cookies (and similar local storage) are small pieces of data your browser keeps for a site. This page explains which ones Olfatuation uses. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.

Essential — always on

These are needed for the site to function and can’t be switched off. They don’t track you for analytics.

• Sign-in / session (Clerk) — keep you securely signed in and protect against cross-site request forgery. Set only if you have an account.
• Your consent choice— remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don’t ask every visit. Stored in your browser.
• Preferences — small settings like your light/dark theme and language.

Analytics & session replay — off until you opt in

We set these only after you accept in the consent banner, and never before:

• PostHog — understands how the site is used and records anonymised session replays (with text inputs masked) so we can improve it. Includes an anonymous identifier and session data.
• Google Analytics — Google’s aggregate traffic measurement (a _gacookie and a pseudonymous client identifier. If you sign in, the analytics service may associate this activity with your account identifier.

Decline, and none of the above is set. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How to control cookies

Use the consent banner to accept or decline analytics, and to change your choice later. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings — note that blocking essential cookies will break sign-in.
