At its best in Spring and Summer, a shade more by day than night.
Laïka by Scent Of Africa is a fragrance for women. Laïka was launched in 2022. The nose behind this fragrance is Natalie Gracia-Cetto. Top notes are Lemon, Pomegranate, Buchu or Agathosma, Grapefruit and Tropical Fruits; middle notes are Orange Blossom and Rose; base notes are Musk, Woody Notes and Madagascar Vanilla. “Malaïka”, the famous Swahili love song sung and covered from North to South Africa, lends its theme to the perfume. This feminine muse is as inspirational as an angel, adored, celebrated. She is an embodiment of pure light. Laïka is her descendant. Laïka spreads her wings, knowing how to be loved and confident, loving modern day. Laïka is the woman whose loving nature wins people over and garners respect through her wisdom. Her character shines like a raw diamond in this ocean of tenderness. Laïka has many tremendous dreams, of such magnitude that her wishes are generously granted. She is pure, sensual, and feminine, capturing hearts and hypnotising minds. A bouquet of roses and orange blossoms from Morocco and Tunisia, small white corollas enhancing engaged women in Mediterranean Africa, are woven like a perfumed crown for Laïka, the angel-woman. Head notes of juicy pomegranate make the mouth water. Buchu from South Africa also adorns it, enhanced by lemon and grapefruit zest that give the fragrance a fresh, appetising burst. Vibrant woods, musks and vanilla from Madagascar form the base, creating a soft cocoon of well-being to express this woman’s nurturing warmth. “The idea behind this perfume was to create something as light as a feather, I pictured the wings of this angel-woman from the start. I imagined a contrast of softness and energy, to illustrate her interior strength. I first wove the perfume together through a bouquet of orange blossom flowers and roses. I then infused it with lots of sparkling colours. Tropical fruits and touches of buchu that are reminiscent of blackcurrant. The love of life is present. Laïka is the original woman to me, she’s protective, perfect”. Nathalie Cetto, Senior Perfumer.
